Top tips on How To Make The Classroom A Brighter Place To Learn
When you look back at schools from the 1960s and19 70s, you often see a similar picture. Grey classrooms with little or no decoration at all. Tables and chairs in rows and huge domineering black boards. Classrooms have come a long way since studies have shown that in the early stages of education, most children learn more effectively when there is a visual element involved. The bright colours and characters which now adorn the walls of infant schools everywhere give schools a fun and friendly feel full of inspiration and creativity.
When it comes to decorating classrooms you need to think about what it constructively, what can you do that will be bright and fun without being too distracting?
I decided to take a look at some ideas on what materials you can use to decorate the classroom.
Educational Posters
Posters are a great way to decorate the classroom to look like a warm friendly place whilst actually having the opportunity to educate. You can lots of educational posters with inspirational quotes and school related content which will not only inspire but also educate. You can buy posters for all subjects including Maths, English and PSHE.
Reward Stickers
School reward stickers and especially personalised stickers are a great way of making the classroom and learning fun. Kids sticker designs are limitless – there are so many designs to choose from however top favourites for primary school stickers include dinosaurs, bumble ‘busy’ bees, frogs and praise words. Use stickers in the classroom as children’s rewards or decorations or resource labels.
Art
Have art class this week? Why not get the children to create something that you can use to decorate the classroom? Mobiles and pictures give the classroom so much personality and the children will love seeing something they have made up on the wall or hanging from the ceiling. This is also a great way of showing off the children’s work when it comes to parents evening.
