Race Into Action: Planning For Sports Day!

Sports Day is one of the highlights of the school calendar. Staff and students alike look forward to the chance to leave the classroom and spend the day on the field, taking part in fun activities and enjoying a bit of friendly competition.

Getting it Right: Preparing for Sports Day

If it’s your responsibility to prepare for Sports Day, you might be feeling a little bit overwhelmed by it all. After all, whole school events take considerable preparation!

Here are a few helpful tips to prepare successfully for the big day:

• Think about objectives: A great starting place is considering what you want to achieve as a learning objective. Think also about aspects such as encouraging teamwork, developing social skills, and supporting one another.

• Prizes, and not just for the winners! It’s great to reward achievement and to recognise the contributions that the students make (and not just the ones who pass the finishing line first!)
